Unless it is just a random rant, almost every post on this blog fits (sometimes loosely) into a series of posts. Here, you’ll find the descriptions of those series and a little bit about why I’m writing them.
Breast Cancer Awareness
Every day during the month of October, I posted a new link, fact, resource, or picture regarding Breast Cancer Awareness. If this interests you, please consider donating to my Avon Walk for Breast Cancer.
Girl Politics
The Girl Politics Series is a series of posts that first appeared over at my personal blog, and it was actually the response I received over there that made me think that keeping a feminist-leaning blog might be my calling. It also partially inspired my tweeting and Good Wife paper. I thought these posts might be breathed to new life and new conversation over here, and so here they are.
The Good Wife/Good Woman Paper
I am in graduate school, studying English Studies. As part of this program, we are required to take a course on the literature of diversity. Instead of asking us to write a term paper, the professor asked us to write a quest paper, or a paper in which the thesis is a question, and we go through several sources trying to find the answer. In this series, you’ll find sections of that paper.
The Feminist Lens
I hold a BA in English literature with a specialization in creative writing. I am currently a high school English teacher, and am in the process of completing my MA in English studies. Obviously, I love to read. This is a series of feminist book reviews, which perfectly marries my feminist opinions with my love of the written word.
Literacy in the Feminist Blogging Community
Another course we are required to take as part of the graduate program in English Studies is a seminar in literacy. For this course, the term paper requirement was to conduct either an ethnographic interview of a person or an ethnographic observation of a field site, looking for information about the literacy processes people go through on a daily basis. I decided to do a little bit of both, and completed an online ethnography. Here, you’ll find several feminist/women bloggers and their answers to an interview about their literacy practices within the feminist blogging community.
On Body Image
In these posts, several guest bloggers and I write about our varying struggles with body image. Here, perspectives from men and women of all body types are shared, including my own thoughts about my personal body image.
Rhetoric and Feminism
This is a series of posts that came out of responses to readings for my Topics in Rhetoric class. Since all bloggers are both rhetoricians and audience members in a rhetorical event, I thought it fitting to use these responses to explore the feminist blogging community a little further.
Teaching Feminism
I honestly believe that teaching feminism and women’s studies in schools, especially high schools, is a really important topic. Maybe I’m biased because I’m a teacher myself, but I hope, at least, these posts will generate not only some great conversation, but some ideas for teachers as well.
My (Not So) Feminist Wedding
Follow these posts for information on my journey through planning a wedding with the most wonderful man in the world. Here, I explain how and why I pick and choose which traditions to keep and which to toss.

Enjoyed your blog. I do not have much passion for your subject, but I liked your writing style. Devoid of subject, the work is really excellent
